Hi! I LOVE teaching and have over 20 years experience as an educator-including 14 years teaching and leading special education programs in Minneapolis, Saint Paul and Chicago, measurably improving outcomes for students with various learning backgrounds, needs, and barriers. I’ve taught and tutored students from Pre-K through College, including in study skills and other executive functioning skills in addition to academics. If you like content broken down clearly into manageable steps/chunks, an always positive pep, (and a bit of sarcasm!) I’ll be a good fit for you. As your tutor I’ll get to know you and your learning style so that I can teach to your needs while using research-based practices. Looking at your growth together will allow us to assess the effectiveness of teaching methods, and hopefully help you feel motivated. My mission is to help you embrace challenges while still feeling successful, leading to more positive feelings about school and more personal comfort when trying and learning new things in general. When learning new things, it’s okay to make mistakes! Sometimes that’s how we learn best. The key is to keep going and ask for help when you need it. My goal is to partner with you, and provide you with empathy, expertise, and accountability. Me? I currently live in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my husband, Ross, and dog, Loki.
