Who are Platute tutors?

Every candidate has to go through our tutor reviewal process that involves identification check, interview, and CV assessment before a tutor is approved and become visible to Platute learners. We ensure that our network of talents are highly qualified in terms of their expertise, educational background, and skill set. Our goal is to guarantee that students can have an enjoyable experience and gain the best results from our service.

Can I message a tutor or share files before sending a booking request?

Yes, you can do both via Platute Student app. To message a tutor, tap on the chat icon next to a tutors name on the Platute student app and start a conversation with the tutor. To share files, you can send it to an email address visible inside the tutor's profile on the app. Also, you can refer to the booking confirmation email for file sharing instruction when your request is accepted.

How much time does a tutor have to respond my booking request?

A tutor has until the start of the session time to accept a booking, however, multiple requests can be made. For requests with a time overlap, the first tutor to accept will be given the booking. If the tutor doesn't respond by the time of start session, the booking get expired. When a booking get expired, Platute system will suggest you up to five best matches to you to consider to book. Also, we notify the best matches to contact you directly via in app messaging.

Can I get urgent help today?

Yes, you definitely can. Platute is designed for instant and on-demand learning. You can book on the Platute student app for a tutor who is available. For an urgent help, you can send multiple booking request to multiple tutors. When a tutor accepts a request, the rest of pending booking requests that their time overlap with the accepted request get automatically canceled to prevent the learner from being double booked. How can I be sure of the quality of the tutor?

Platute tutors, mentors and experts are the vetted, screened and interviewed by our academics and quality control team to ensure they are of a consistently high standard. Our network of talent are top universities' academics or graduates. You can also refer to the reviews tutors have received from their previous students which also allows quality auditing.

Will I be charged to be a Platute user or to contact a tutor?

There is no charge to be a Platute user and there is zero monthly subscription fee. Also there is no fee to contact a tutor. You can contact the tutor via our in app messaging feature available on the Platute Student app.

Can I cancel a class?

Yes you can cancel a booking at any time. If the session time doesn't work for you anymore, you can reschedule the session for no fee. To receive a full refund, a student must either allow the tutor to cancel the booking or student cancel booking within 15 minutes of the tutor accepting the booking request. * If the student cancels more than 72 hours before the session is due to start, they will receive a 90% refund of the total price. * If the student cancels within 72 hours of the session starting they will receive a 60% refund of the total price. * If the student is absent for the scheduled session, they will be charged full price. * The tutor is able to cancel the session any time without a charge and student will be fully refunded. While a session is ongoing, if the tutor ends a session early, the student will get a refund for the remaining minutes of the session. Please note that a refund is only available for an ongoing session, if the tutor ends the session via the Platute Tutor app.

What happens if my request is declined or canceled?

If your request is declined, feel free to approach another tutor who will more than likely accept your request. If a tutor cancels an accepted booking before the start of the session, you receive a full refund for the booking. If an ongoing session has to be ended early by the tutor, you will be refunded for the remaining minutes of the session.

How can I find a tutor?

Platute is a network of best performer postgraduate students, PhD candidates, academics, and industry experts. All are assessed by Platute Quality Control Team. With over 70,000 subjects from 20 universities Australia wide, as well as new tutors and subjects added to the platform each day, we guarantee you will be able to find a great match. 1. In the white search bar at the top of your screen you can ‘Search Subject’ specifically or select an option from the list provided. 2. When provided with a list of tutors qualified for your subject, you can compare their profiles by tapping on their picture. 3. Once you have found the right tutor to suit your learning, select the tick button which will turn blue. 4. At the bottom of your screen you can change the time, date and duration to match your schedule and choose either an online or face-to-face class. 5. Select ‘Proceed to Booking’ 6. When all of the details are correct, select ‘Send Booking Request’

Will I be charged by sending a booking request?

No, you won't be charged by sending a booking request. You only will be charged when your booking request is accepted by your tutor. By accepting a booking request, the tutor will be committed to your requested session. Platute holds your payment in escrow and only release it to the tutor after completion of the session. If your accepted booking is canceled by your tutor, you will be fully refunded automatically. The refund will go to your Platute Wallet and is available to reuse immediately. If you wish your fund in your wallet to be returned to your card, simply request it via the app.
